Only N***a In First Class: Wiz Khalifa Explains His O.N.I.F.C. Album Title

Back in November, I reported that Wiz Khalifa sophomore album is entitled O.N.I.F.C. Many of us, including myself wanted to know the meaning behind the title. Khalifa revealed what the acronym stands for during an interview on Shade 45’s Sway in the Morning radio show (via MTV News) and the meaning behind O.N.I.F.C. is Only N***a In First Class. The title was inspired by Prodigy of Mobb Deep 2000 debut solo album Head N***a in Charge. “It’s inspired by Prodigy’s H.N.I.C.,” said Khalifa. “When he dropped that, I felt like that sounded so strong,” added Khalifa.
As we all know by now, racism is still alive and out in the open. It used to be conceal but not anymore. On the disc, Khalifa also tackles some issues of racism he’s encountered while traveling through airports. “I was just talking about me being a young rich dude and being black,” he explained. “It looks crazy to them when I walk up to them and show them my ticket or I’m going in priority seating, They’re like, ‘You’re sure?’” So far, Khalifa has been in the studio with Pharrell, Chris Brown, and Adam Levine. This will be the follow-up to Khalifa’s debut LP Rolling Papers, which debuted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 197,000 copies. As of now, the disc has sold over 600,000 copies worldwide.
Khalifa will soon release a new mixtape called Taylor Allderdice which is in reference to the high school he attended in his hometown Pittsburgh.
